this album was a turning point, especially in hindsight.
i used to tell people on Myspace “this will be a special release, it will even have a music video” and it was held back until valentines day. released triskalyon website at the same time.

This was for sure an important part of my musical career. Perhaps even one of the top 3 high points, because VE ended up being one of my most important and personal bands. I began working on this EP in January of 2007 with the first song, “Love within Beauty”. It was the same day, or one of the first days, that I discovered the usage of reverb, and recorded the “Alien Reverb Song” by Soufferance. I wish I could remember what its original working title was. It must have been very early in January because “L’esprit Dans Le Ciel” was written and recorded on January 3rd and that had reverb. “Le Démon De La Lune” was January 13th.
I believe that Eiman Nejad was indirectly responsible for my creation of this type of music. Back in 2005 or 2006 he had sent me a beautiful guitar solo song that was drowned in reverb. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard, and I became obsessed with it (as I always do when he sends me new material) and must have listened to it many, many times during the following two weeks. The song has been lost since, but all I know is that this was probably my way to evoke that again in my subconscious.
The second song composed was “Isolation” and that was in a night of depression over a girl named Kristin Klacik. I just went up in my room with my guitar Lucy and started playing what became the song. Two minutes later I was recording it with Kelly on my computer. “Restriction”, “Narcosis”, “Delirium” and finally “Autumn” followed (though I am not all certain of the order). I can’t recall when I wrote the other four songs, but it was done fairly quick because by early February everything was done and I was working on artwork and even a music video. I had planned to release it on Valentine’s Day, because it was a breakup album. It made perfect sense to me, and it was based on Brandi, with whom I had somewhat not gotten over since the summer of 2005, nearly two years ago at that time.
After this album, it was when I actually really got over her. It relieved me of so much grief. This was my first concept album and I believe that I was influenced to do this by the recently discovered Buried Inside album “Chronoclast” which had been suggested to me by my hair stylist Damien. Also possible that he only suggested that album afterwards. Unsure if I was even going to him at that point yet or not. The concept was really great, and led the way for all Éternel albums to be made afterwards. Taking the letters of the first name and making each song on a phase I went through. I surely didn’t think that I would make more albums like this one, but VE continued oddly enough. I think if this had stood as an only album, it would have been much more notorious.
