“L’esprit dans le ciel” is one of the songs I am the most proud of of my entire musical career. And it is for sure the song that “put me on the map” when it comes to people hearing about my music back in 2007. And if you ask any fans of Lunar what the defining moment of the band was, they will for sure say “Luna Borea”.
I remember exactly that day. It was the day the full moon was out, and I was a bit worried about not having a new song for release later that night. It was digitally released by my own record label, so I could release what I wanted whenever the fuck I felt like it. But I just had to have a new song that night. Under all this pressure, I somehow came up with “L’esprit dans le Ciel”. This was also the first day I ever used reverb. That day I also recorded some stuff that was later used for Soufferance, such as the “Alien Reverb Song” and “Outro Reverb Song” to name a few. From there on I pretty much used reverb on almost all my recordings. I’m not sure exactly how I ended up with the song I wrote, but it sure was a hell of a good one. That song got everyone who had heard about Triskalyon before to finally start paying attention! It even got us our first interview, which was never published.
