I started working on this compilation in February of 2007. It was supposed to feature one or two songs from every band that was part of Triskalyon at the time. However, some bands had nothing recorded (Darklink, Unkwiss and Vision Pariah) or had nothing that they felt was worth sharing with the public (Azag-Thoth and Throne of Mortality). So only six of the eleven bands that were part of Triskalyon at the time were chosen to be on this compilation. Most of the material was already released, apart from special edits of the Gallia Fornax and a Vision Éternel songs (which were only cut short but remained the same mix) and the two Havarax songs, which were submitted before their album “No Access to the Divine” came out. The Vision Sufferance material was exclusive at the time, but would later appear on “Forthcoming Travels“. I came very close to adding the Throne of Mortality song “Sa voix dans ma tête” also in a shortened edit cut, but I finally left it off because I had intended to re-recorded it. Throne of Mortality ended up going under by the time this compilation was finalized. There were a lot of unreleased songs from each of the bands, but for some reason I created an inferior compilation that focused on “the best of” rather than being original and exclusive. One of the idea through out the building of this compilation was to have two songs from each band, one best known single and one exclusive unreleased song.
I worked on the artwork almost immediately when the idea started. I used the new version of the Triskalyon logo by Jeremy Roux and made an off black cover. I used one of my favorite fonts for this, Paulson. The original artwork had a white square intended for hand numbering the CDs once I was going to press them at home, but it was fixed for the digital version later on. Trisaklyon broke up before I finished putting this compilation together, so it technically never did not come out in March 2007. What occurred was that in late 2007, while I was working on “Forthcoming Travels”, I went back to this and decided to release it, as it was, the last time that I had worked on it, in March of 2007. By this time I decided it would not be on CD and simply digital, through Mortification Records, but without a catalog number because it was not an official release.
Looking back, I really wish that I would have put more effort into making this compilation better, with some unreleased material accompanied by what was considered the best songs from each band. Years later I thought about making a sequel to this compilation, bringing back the idea to have a best known single from each band along with an unreleased song, and then to compile only the unreleased songs from all the bands during that period, but neither came to life. It was probably better that way because no one would have cared about it but myself.
